CERTIFICATE OF MERIT
For new applicants and former members wishing to reinstate
All required membership and reinstatement applications and documents, along with correct payment, must be submitted to the MTAC State Office by July 31 in order to participate in Certificate of Merit.

WHAT MTAC HAS TO OFFER
Opportunities for professional growth and involvement
- Receive our magazine, The California Music Teacher, which includes news of the profession, review articles and explanations of the latest music teaching techniques.
- Receive access to the Grove Online Dictionary
- Receive preferred rates to the Annual State Convention, highlighting well-known artists, lecturers and pedagogues, master classes and outstanding student performances of all levels.
- Be listed in our online Find a Teacher referral system.
Networking
- Identify with others in similar careers
- Participate in local branch events including recitals, festivals, competitions and master classes.
Student Programs
- Enable your students to participate in MTAC student programs.
- Your students will be eligible for honors and recognition from the MTAC.
Prestige
- Be a part of an organization that is recognized and respected worldwide.
- The MTAC requires a Bachelor degree in music or its equivalent to join; membership establishes you as a qualified music teacher in your community.
Membership Renewal
- If you are a current MTAC member, your membership renewal must be completed by July 31. To renew your membership online, click on MTAC login at the upper left on this page and enter your username and password. After you are logged in, from your teacher home page, click on Shopping on the left hand side and then click Membership Renewal.
