Contemporary Music Recital presents a recital of works composed in the last 50 years at the State Conventions. The recital was established in 1981 by Dr. Bob Bennett to help teachers discover appropriate modern literature.
Over the years, the Contemporary Music Recital has seen many teachers and students introduce new pieces to their colleagues as well as give noteworthy performances on the stage.
This recital is open to both MTAC Teachers and MTAC Students. No previous MTAC program participation is required. Interested participants will submit an audition video through the MTAC Online System. Selected participants will be notified and will need to submit a Convention fee.
