Convention 2009, Got Rhythm?

The theme for Convention 2009 is "Got Rhythm?" and will be held from July 3 – 7, 2009 at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel.
Registration has started for the 2009 Convention, “Got Rhythm?”. You will find a registration form in the current issue of the California Music Teacher and members will be receiving an online invitation the first part of February. Registration is quick and easy online or through the mail.
This year there are two early bird deadlines. If you register before May 15, the registration is $170.00, less than last year’s early bird rate! Between May 15 and June 15, the rate is $185.00. After June 15, registrants must pay the full, on-site convention rate. It really does pay to register early.
This year’s convention is going to be very exciting. We are honored to have Jon Nakamatsu as our Monday Night Concert guest artist. We will have many other exciting artists including Melody Bober, Helen Marlais, Hans Boepple, Vivian Guzman, Arthur Campbell, Christopher Norton, and many others.
The Santa Clara Marriott is a beautiful facility and it is nearby so many great family destinations. The hotel is next door to the amusement park, Great America. It is also very close to The Triton Museum of Art, The Children’s Discovery Museum, and Raging Waters Water Park in San Jose.

Silent Auction Helps MTAC Foundation
Economic forecasts are uncertain right now- but what is certain is the capacity of people to lend a hand and support institutions of all kinds.The sky is not falling. People are still giving – just less. Donors are more deliberate now in who they support.

Future Conventions
Convention 2010 will be held from July 2 – 6, 2010 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel and Convention 2011 will be held from July 1 – 5, 2011 at the Marriott Hotel at the Oakland City Center.
